Triple-A Indianapolis Indians Install Daktronics LED Display in Outfield Fence
The Indianapolis Indians have installed a Daktronics LED video display incorporated into the outfield fence in left field at Victory Field this year. Victory Field opened in the summer of 1996 and is the home of the Indianapolis Indians, the the Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates and the second-oldest minor league franchise in American professional baseball.
“The Indianapolis Indians are constantly seeking ways to improve the entertainment package we present to our fans at Victory Field and our new LED board in left field provides us with a new opportunity to do that,” says Cal Burleson, Vice President & General Manager. “Our new video board allows our scoreboard information to be displayed in a state-of-the-art form and lets our corporate partners have their messages presented in a vivid and striking manner.”
At nearly 120 feet wide and featuring Daktronics HD-X video technology, this LED fence display offers additional information and entertainment to fans. Daktronics LED fence displays provide full-color crowd prompts, advertisements, up-to-the-minute scores and statistics, and video clips on an impact-resistant screen.
The new fence display is one of only a handful in minor league baseball and rivals that of most displays in Major League Baseball ballparks. With Daktronics control package, the new fence display integrates seamlessly with existing Daktronics video and scoring displays to provide a dynamic informational network to Victory Field.
Included as part of the project is Daktronics video image processing technologies and the new Show Control system. The company’s video processing system processes and scales live and recorded video signals to vivid digital imagery on large displays. The Show Control system is the one of the latest developments from Daktronics, providing a combination of control software, data integration, and playback hardware that forms a comprehensive production solution.
