Likewise Joins NetApp Alliance Partner Program

Likewise has joined the NetApp Alliance Partner Program as an Advantage Alliance Partner. The collaboration provides NetApp customers with identity management and authentication software for secure access control of NetApp unified storage systems.

Likewise joins desktops and servers running Linux, Windows, and Macs to an organization’s existing network using Microsoft Active Directory. This provides a single, secure framework for authentication and access control in heterogeneous networks. Likewise supports more than 180 variations of Linux, Mac, Unix, and virtualization technologies, in addition to NetApp unified storage systems.

“Enterprises are seeking improved compliance and operational efficiency,” says Ken Cheney, VP of business development, Likewise. “As an Advantage Partner, we can assist NetApp customers with heterogeneous environments to leverage their investments in Microsoft Active Directory to achieve unified directory access. The end result is a single system to manage authentication with a centralized policy definition point to control access to an enterprise’s most important asset – information.”

Patrick Rogers, VP of Solutions and Alliances at NetApp, adds: “NetApp is committed to helping our customers drive their businesses by making storage simpler and cheaper to manage. With Likewise joining the NetApp Alliance Partner Program, together we can simplify storage management while improving security.”
