Eyeheight Downstream Keyer Serves Up Wimbledon

Eyeheight’s DK-2M downstream linear keyer helped convey the excitement of the world’s most famous tennis tournament in June and early July as part of the equipment relaying the event in 1080i HD to television viewers. Chosen by a major UK-based outside broadcast company, the keyer was used to process the output from a production switcher feeding the games to an international audience.
“This is the latest in a long series of major live sports events for which Eyeheight equipment has been chosen,” comments Sales Director Martin Moore. “OB companies in particular appreciate the compactness of our products as well as the fast and easy control ergomics which are ideal for use in fast-moving live production environments.”
Eyeheight’s DK-2M is a high-quality downstream linear keyer for 1080i and 720p, 625 and 525 operation. It incorporates all the facilities needed for generating matte overlays, an increasingly essential requirement in modern graphic suites and presentation studios. The DK-2M enables overlays to be located anywhere on the video display, either as a solid image or transparent. Fill and key inputs with adjustable horizontal timing are provided, as well as matte generators, wipe, independent main and preview keyers and EDH reinsertion for the main output. Key on/off plus six user-definable control sequences are accessible via an integral GPI interface card. Housed in a compact 1 U chassis designed for local, remote or automated control, the keyer incorporates programme and preview outputs and is designed for easy HD-SDI and SD-SDI connectivity.
