Grass Valley Technology Goes Down Under at 2010 Australian Broadcast Exhibition

Grass Valley will feaure several of its latest HD and 3D production and distribution products at the The 2010 Australian Broadcast Exhibition, to be held August 3-5 at the Manly Pacific Hotel in Sydney. Grass Valley representatives will also deliver a number of technical papers as part of the bi-annual show’s agenda, which is presented in association with Free TV Australia.

Attendees to the Grass Valley exhibit (Booth #5) will see working presentations of the various products and systems and how they all work together to facilitate a seamless workflow that can be used to produce content faster and distribute it more efficiently. Show attendees will also see several 3D workflows in abstract and learn how Grass Valley is helping producers create compelling 3D content for many of today’s major entertainment and sporting events.

On the exhibit stand will be working models of the LDK 8300 Super SloMo HD camera system, Kayenne Video Production Center, the growing family of K2 systems, including the K2 Dyno replay controller, K2 Dyno Production Assistant (PA), and K2 Summit and K2 Solo servers. Additionally, a compression demonstration featuring Grass Valley’s Mustang will highlight Grass Valley’s ability to deliver quality content using a small amount of bandwidth.

Among the tools on display, the Grass Valley K2 Dyno HD replay system is composed of Grass Valley’s next-generation K2 Dyno controller coupled with the K2 Summit production client. The system is designed to help production professionals capture live events in HD resolutions and instantly play them out at variable speeds for critical analysis during fast-paced events. It is ideally suited for HD mobile production trucks and shared storage production facilities.

Grass Valley representatives will be delivering the following technical papers (see program for details):

  • “Equipping for the 3D Revolution in Content Production,” by Ray Baldock, Chief Technology Officer, on Tuesday, August 3 at 2:30pm
