EVS Names New Biz Development Manager, EMEA General Sales Manager

EVS Broadcast Equipment has appointed Maximilien d’Oreye business development manager and Quentin Grutman EMEA general sales manager. They will both work at EVS headquarters in Liege, Belgium.

Succeeding Henry Alexander, Grutman will focus his activities on managing the EMEA sales network and on organizing operations. He has extensive experience in EMEA sales and operations with large software companies, in particular Oracle, where he worked for eight years in various international sales-management positions. Grutman was sales director for Europe at Heartbeat Experts/Software, which he joined in 2007 before moving to EVS.

Grutman has a degree in general and international management from HEC-Liège University and a masters in general management (CEPAC) from Solvay Business School in Brussels. He will be reporting to Pierre L’Hoest, EVS managing director/CEO.

D’Oreye, who has more than 17 years of international experience in broadcast and telecommunication, comes to EVS from Newtec, the Belgian manufacturer of satellite transmission equipment, which he joined in 1998. At Newtec, he held various senior management positions, including VP of marketing and, more recently, VP of the Professional Equipment Business Unit.

Prior to that, d’Oreye was head of the European offices of Tiernan, an MPEG-encoder manufacturer, as well as one of the company’s very first hires and a key systems engineer. He has a degree in engineering from the Catholic University of Louvain-La-Neuve and an MS from San Diego State University.  He is the holder of a number of patents and the author of numerous papers on television and transmission systems.

d’Oreye’s activities as EVS business development manager will include the setting up and management of its partnerships with the broadcast and technology industries. He will also be highly involved in EVS business-development strategy and the company’s expansion towards new markets. He will report to L’Hoest.
