Camera Corps Names Distributor in Russia

Camera Corps, the UK developer of special camera systems, has appointed an exclusive distributor in Russia to handle its products to members of the CIS (Confederation of Independent States). Moscow-based Media Trust will handle the complete Camera Corps range, focusing on the Q-Ball and HD minicam remotely controlled systems.

The Camera Corps range will be available across the CIS, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan as well as Russia. “Media Trust is one of Russia’s most pro-active providers of broadcast-quality television equipment and supporting devices,” says Laurie Frost, founder/managing director of Camera Corps. “The company’s current inventory includes ground-based and overhead grip products, which neatly complement our range of HD/SD robotic cameras, remote-control joysticks, camera-control units, and reclockers.”

The Q-Ball is a digital pan-and-tilt head in a weather-proofed mounting, which was used most recently to cover the pool events at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India. “The Q-Ball in particular provides all the features required for outside-broadcast capture of sports events, stage performances, or studio productions,” says Max Fartukov, managing director of Media Trust. “We have already taken delivery of two Q-Ball systems to add to our rental inventory.”

Media Trust was set up in 2003 and has hire and systems-integration operations as well as the distribution business. Among other product ranges it handles are Steadicam, Canon, and Vinten. It is active in the sports field, designing and supplying lighting grids and controllers for broadcast clients.
