Evolution Technology to Begin Volume Production of AV Over USB 3.0 Chips

By Michael Silbergleid

DigiTimes.com reports that ASIC design house Evolution Technology, a subsidiary of Faraday Technology, will soon begin volume production of its audio/video over USB 3.0 SoC chips, the ET12U32X, according to Faraday.

The ET12U32X has received a USB 3.0 Device Logo from the USB-IF as the chip has successfully completed the official plug test carried out in an USB-IF workshop held in September 2010, Faraday added.

The audio/video over USB 3.0 chip will be available with display interfaces including D-Sub, D-RGB (TTL), DVI or HDMI depending on client’s demand and with built-in SDRAM, said Faraday.
