Total Sports Asia Taps GlobeCast to Deliver Key Sporting Events

GlobeCast has signed a series of deals for sports distribution in 2011, the largest of which is with Total Sports Asia (TSA), the official rights holder for the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super Series and International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Pro Tour from 2011 to 2013. TSA has appointed GlobeCast as its official satellite service provider for these events.

GlobeCast will provide satellite and fiber delivery from four TSA events, including the ITTF Slovenian Open and English Open as well as two BWF Super Series events in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Seoul, South Korea taking place through the end of this month.

GlobeCast’s ad hoc team deploys year-round around the world to provide live coverage for major events for broadcasters and rights holders. Clients turn to GlobeCast for delivery of major events and content in HD, SD, and 3D formats around the globe via satellite and the GlobeCast Backbone Network.

In a separate deal, GlobeCast oversaw the delivery of the SD world feed for the fifth Royal Trophy golf championship, which was held Jan. 7-9 in Hua Hin, Thailand for the Entertainment Group, delivering a cumulative 21 broadcast hours via satellite.

Finally, GlobeCast is also involved in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup Finals, which ran from Jan. 7-29 in Doha, Qatar.
