NAB 2011: AJA’s Ki Pro Records to Computer-Friendly Media

The Ki Pro tapeless video-recording device from AJA Video Systems records high-quality Apple ProRes 422 QuickTime files onto computer-friendly media. Accommodating SD/HD-SDI, HDMI, and analog inputs, it can interface with virtually any type of camera. With simultaneous outputs, the Ki Pro connects to all types of consumer monitors, too. VTR-like buttons provide immediate controls for basic operation and can be controlled from a distance via laptop or iPhone using Ethernet or WiFi. AJA’s Edit products feature KONA capture cards. Content can be displayed in action on broadcast monitors, plasmas, and projectors, while multitrack audio is monitored through mixers and speakers. KONA cards offer 3G, HD/SD-SDI, component, and HDMI connectivity. The Hardware Scalar Acceleration feature takes a portion of the codec processing load off the CPU, allowing the computer to concentrate more on RealTime effects. AJA’s Acquire, Edit, and Convert products will be featured at this year’s NAB Conference.
