JVC Produces Multi-part ‘Countdown to NAB 2011’ Research Reports

JVC Professional Products Company has unveiled “Countdown to NAB 2011,” a multi-part online series of independently researched reports focused on new technologies that are impacting local HD news broadcasting. The first entry in the series has been posted to the new ProHD Executive Report page at http://pro.jvc.com/broadcast.

The viability of bonding multiple 4G uplink streams as a replacement for BAS microwave systems in HD ENG vehicles for local news is the subject of the first report. Additional papers, covering a variety of other topics, will be posted to the site before JVC exhibits at the 2011 NAB Show in Las Vegas, April 11-14 (Booth C4314).

Dave Walton, JVC assistant VP of marketing and communications, hopes the series will encourage discussion. “With ’Countdown to NAB 2011,’ JVC is sharing research with broadcasters that could influence or change the way they produce news in the near future,” he says. “For example, the first report explores why live HD ENG is a competitive necessity and whether a 4G bonded backhaul is a cost effective way to deliver it. We think topics like these need to be debated, and our online series provides an excellent forum for dialogue.”
