NAB 2011: Gepco International Adds Two Extended-Distance HD Cables

Gepco International will introduce two cables, the VHD1100F and the VHD1300, in its series of extended-distance HD coax cables at the NAB Show. Certified to 4.5 GHz bandwidth, the VHD1100F and VHD1300 are ideal for the transmission of uncompressed HD video in patching or remote applications. For the insulating dielectric, both cables use Gepco’s proprietary crush-resistant, gas-injected polyethylene compound that reduces attenuation and extends the operating bandwidth. A flexible version of Gepco’s RG11-type coax, the VHD1100F features a stranded 14 AWG conductor, a 92% TC braid with 100% foil shield and a flexible TPE jacket. The increased flexibility of VHD1100F makes it excellent for field use. The VHD1300 features a precision-drawn 13 AWG solid conductor, a 92% TC braid with 100% foil shield and a flexible, riser-rated PVC jacket. With low return loss and lower capacitance compared with typical coax products, VHD1300 is ideal for long-distance runs.
