NAB 2011: Bexel Broadcast Offers Solutions, Not Gadgets

The NAB Show in April is generally a place for manufacturers and vendors to show their wares (and begin a sales process), but Bexel Broadcast Services will be on the floor looking to build relationships with existing customers, develop new ones, and get a better understanding of what its customers need in the way of services and support.

“NAB is not a point-of-sale show for us,” says Director of Sales Jim Richardson. “It’s about discussing projects, solving problems, and thinking outside of the box.”

That isn’t to say its booth will be gear-free. There will be some equipment for sale, courtesy of Bexel Broadcast Video Gear’s sale of pre-owned products at the show. And the Bexel crew will look to engage customers visiting other companies within the Vitec Village in an effort to provide suitable solutions for technology issues.

“Our people will help customers deal with everything from 3D to audio-communications products,” Richardson says.

With respect to 3D, Bexel is working closely with Panasonic and 3ality Digital, and its BBS1 remote-production trailer is configured for 3D support.

Says Richardson, “We aren’t competing with OB trucks but instead as a way to augment 2D production environments and make 3D affordable.”
