3D Biz Report: 3D at Sea and Star Wars 3D

According to the 3D Biz Report podcast, Royal Caribbean’s new Allure of the Seas cruise ship will be the first to offer 3D movies in a deal with FUNA International and Dreamworks Animation. Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace will be coming to theaters in 3D on Feb. 10, 2012. LucasFilm is guaranteeing that the 3D conversion for the film is “being done with the utmost respect for the source material and with a keen eye for both technological considerations and artistic intentions.” Also on the 3D Biz Report’s radar: Volfoni’s truly universal 3D glasses, Panasonic’s new 3D Blu-Ray home theater systems, Sharp’s latest 3D TVs, IMAX’s Arabia 3D, and Pink Floyd in 3D.
