NAB 2011: NewTek Introduces Third-Party Video Developer Program
Story Highlights
NewTek has announced the debut of its Video SDK (Software Development Kit) Program, designed to provide support and access to a series of NewTek SDKs. Third-party developers will now be able to tap into proprietary NewTek iVGA, LiveSet and DataLink technologies. The program also includes the ability to access add-on plug-in architecture and support for remote control through a TCP/IP communication link.
“With the continuing success of our video product line, including TriCaster and 3PLAY, we are seeing an increasing demand from developers and customers alike to have improved access and integration into our products,” says NewTek Chief Technology Officer, Andrew Cross. “With the creation of this program, we are very excited to be able to provide the software for those who wish to better integrate their tools with ours.”
To sign up for the NewTek Video SDK Program, send an email with full contact information to: [email protected]. For a limited time, NewTek will waive the fee associated with the program and provide it as a free resource to developers and companies that wish to create products that support the NewTek video line.
DataLink 3.0
Also new for NewTek at the show will be DataLink 3.0, the latest update to the LiveText 2 integrated application that allows operators to pre-produce graphics and titles, and deliver real-time display of constantly updated information instantly to NewTek TriCaster.
“The new DataLink 3.0 streamlines the configuration and management of data sources,” said NewTek Chief Technology Officer, Andrew Cross. “The added hardware sources and the support for RSS feeds provide a wide array of creative possibilities. DataLink 3.0 provides yet another advantage for TriCaster users who need to deliver constantly changing information that is accurate and looks great.”
DataLink 3.0 provides a highly configurable way to manage data from many different sources, including text files, databases, and scoring and timekeeping devices, such as Daktronics scoreboard controllers. DataLink 3.0 also adds support for RSS feeds from multiple network data sources, including Twitter feeds, all of which can be independently configured for use in LiveText 2.
