MultiDyne Introduces HD-3400

MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems’ new HD-3400 features 3G HD video with four analog or two AES channels of program audio over one single-mode fiber. It serves as a “facility fiber link,” making the transition from composite video to HD-SDI video and offering the flexibility to handle analog or AES audio along with embedded audio in the video HD-SDI stream.

The multi-rate SDI stream supports 19.4 Mbps, 270 Mbps, 1.5 Gbps, and 3 Gbps for 720p, 1080i, and 1080p production. The 24-bit audio-processing design accepts analog or AES audio and transmits this digitized signal over fiber to the receiver. At the receiver, the audio signal is available both as analog audio outputs and as an AES data stream. In addition, the HD-SDI path supports embedded audio, further increasing the HD-3400 audio capability.

The HD-3400 may be used as a standalone device or rack-mounted in a 1RU panel. It incorporates cable equalization for the HD feed and provides a reclocked, loop-through output at the transmitter. The HD-3400 receiver features dual reclocked outputs, eliminating the need for an external HD D/A.

MultiDyne provides a seven-year warranty on its core product line. The HD-3400 and other new MultiDyne products are on display at NAB 2011, Central Hall, Booth C6537.
