Broadcast Pix Delivers Video-Production Systems to Customers Worldwide

While demonstrating new software and systems in Booth N4506 at the NAB Show, Broadcast Pix the company is also celebrating recent sales of its Granite and Slate live-video-production systems in a variety of U.S. and international markets.

Among recent purchasers of its systems:

• Red Bull Media House in Austria installed a Granite 5000 system. The multimedia-production company produces a variety of HD programming for its television channel, ServusTV . Red Bull also offers video content online and through mobile devices.
• Premiere Entertainment, a division of NEP Broadcasting based in Van Nuys, CA, upgraded its Premiere West truck to Granite 2000. The company produces live, multicamera coverage of red-carpet events, concerts, award shows, and other high-profile entertainment events for television, theaters, and the Web. According to Brad Sexton, vice president of digital, the system has already been used for its first project and will be covering two events this week.
• The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) in Singapore already had Slate systems for its teaching lab but added Granite 5000 for large events hosted on campus. The new Granite system is part of a complete HD-production system, which will be used in a new facility.
• West Angeles Church of God in Christ, Los Angeles, with more than 25,000 members, installed Granite 5000 to stream live coverage of Sunday services to more than 100,000 viewers each week. The same system is also used to provide image magnification (IMAG) for the congregation. Media Director Will Hampton said the new system has made production workflow much cleaner and improved its productions.

At NAB, Broadcast Pix is introducing two live-video-production systems, Granite 500 and Slate 500, which feature a new compact control panel and significantly lower the entry point for Broadcast Pix systems with a control panel. The company is also demonstrating its new Granite 2.0 and Slate 8.5 software, which adds playlists, improves chroma key and key priority controls, provides remote control of streaming appliances, offers an enhanced Harris CG for Slate, and provides ProRes clips and QuickTime Animation playback and an optional Chyron CG for Granite.

Another recent addition to the Granite family, Granite 2000 features a wide 1M/E control panel with a much larger work area than the Granite 1000. It adds more device controls to provide faster access to the full complement of Granite’s built-in Fluent file stores for clips, animations, and graphics (including ones from the built-in CG), as well as controls for external devices. The control panel also includes a dedicated bank of controls for Fluent Macros, which provides file-based macros for creating powerful effects.
