HTN Extends Backhaul Deal with NESN

HTN Communications has announced that New England Sports Network (NESN) has extended its contract with HTN for another three years. Under the agreement, HTN will continue to provide audio-visual backhaul services for NESN’s Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins feeds, which are managed and monitored from HTN’s New York City technical operations center.

“By controlling, managing, and monitoring its own private national fiber network with experienced technical staff, HTN is positioned to guarantee the quality we require in a backhaul provider,” says Dave Desroshers, VP of engineering at NESN. “The company maintains its network and services at the leading edge, which enables us to provide fans of New England sports with the quality sports programming for which NESN is known.”

NESN is owned by the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins and is delivered to more than four million homes throughout the six-state New England region and nationally as NESN National. NESN has consistently been one of the top-rated regional sports networks in the country.

“HTN has been the exclusive provider of audio-visual backhaul services to NESN since its inception, and we’re pleased to be continuing our successful relationship with the network,” says Christian Kneuer, senior director of operations and client relations at HTN. “NESN has long been the definitive source for New England sports programming, and the seamless network services we provide play a key role in NESN’s distribution of top-rated Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins HD programming.”
