Illumination Dynamics Builds Mobile Office for ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball

For 2011, ESPN began making big changes to Sunday Night Baseball, adding more high-tech components and altering the commentator line up. While ESPN made major changes to the show, the network chose to utilize the same power company it has trusted since 2003—Illumination Dynamics (ID).

ESPN had one new need for ID to meet: a mobile office that could be used as a functional workspace as well as a truck able to carry power and production equipment.  ID’s staff immediately began work on converting a traditional C-Unit freight hauler and the result was a mobile office from which Sunday Night Baseball could be produced.

Along with plenty of space for storage, the work space has places for four production crew operators to have separate work stations; air conditioning; a lounge, complete with refrigerator and microwave; and is fully wired for multiple HD screens, computers, printers, and faxes.

For 26 straight weeks the truck will travel to game sites in order to assist in making the production of Sunday Night Baseball run as smoothly as possible, while keeping those housed in the mobile work station comfortable. In addition to the work station, ID will provide reliable twin pack redundant power generators to run the television trucks at the many stadiums the show travels to.
