Dartfish, Bosch Team Up to Create New Video Solution for Baseball

Dartfish has partnered with Bosch Security Systems to develop a video solution for baseball that provides visual and statistical feedback to players and coaches. Baseball teams including The LA Angels, Arizona State University and University of Oklahoma Baseball are using Bosch cameras, Dartfish software, and Dartfish.tv to capture live video of ballgames and practices, electronically chart significant data such as pitch type and results, and share the videos for instant tactical reviews and technical analysis.

“Combined, Dartfish and Bosch provide teams the ability to conduct in-depth player reviews to improve performance,” says Terry Fredrickson, director of corporate accounts, Bosch Security Systems. “Dartfish is an advanced video technology that is a great complement to the Bosch family of IP cameras. Dartfish software coupled with HD resolution provides amazing image detail at high frame rates. This partnership has given us the opportunity to enter into new markets and offer creative solutions that help us grow our business.”

Dartfish software enables baseball players and coaches to tag events to review the performance of players in action; quickly locate and play important pitches or batting practice sessions; replay video at various speeds or display it frame by frame for detailed analysis; and review athlete statistics and video directly from graphical reports.

Dartfish.tv is a video-sharing platform to easily publish and share videos online, in all types of professional settings, sports, healthcare and education.

“One of the main challenges in sports is the lack of efficient tools to provide relevant feedback on performance,” says Dartfish CEO Victor Bergonzoli. “With baseball season underway, we’re working closely with Bosch to offer crisp, clear video and advanced reporting capabilities to our baseball customers and help them improve performance. Could winning championships depend on video analysis? We’ll see.”
