FOX Sports Houston Promotes Producers

FOX Sports Houston has promoted two veteran producers. Murphy Brown, an original member of the regional sports network, has been named Executive Producer after serving as Coordinating Producer and Senior Producer. Jeff Muckleroy, the network’s primary producer for Houston Rockets telecasts and other marquee events, has been elevated to Coordinating Producer.

“Murphy Brown and Jeff Muckleroy have been integral members of our staff for over two decades,” said FOX Sports Houston General Manager Steve McNair. “They are extremely talented and creative producers who have a great understanding of the sports television business. Their knowledge of Houston sports and the experience they bring to their new roles will help FOX Sports Houston maintain its position as the leader in local sports television.”

Brown will oversee all aspects of production, including the on-air look of the network, planning and developing new programs, managing the network’s production and operations budget, and negotiating and booking on-air talent and production personnel. Muckleroy will assist Brown in his new role as coordinating producer.

Brown has nearly 30 years of experience in sports television, all with FOX Sports Houston and its predecessor Home Sports Entertainment. He began his career in December 1982 as a photographer-editor for HSE, one month before it launched as one of the nation’s first regional sports networks. During his time with the network, Brown has served as the lead producer for Houston Astros and Houston Rockets games and also has produced a wide-variety of other local events and programming. Brown graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio-Television.

Muckleroy joined the network in 1988 as a Marketing and Promotions Producer before being named an event producer in 1990. He has produced Houston Rockets, Houston Astros, Big 12 football and other collegiate events in addition to several local program series. Prior to joining FOX Sports Houston, Muckleroy was an Associate Sports producer and Promotion Producer at KTXH-TV channel 20 in Houston. The Houston native graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications/Radio-Television-Film.

FOX Sports Houston is part of FSN’s group of 19 owned and operated and affiliated regional sports networks nationwide. The local sports network reaches over four million cable and satellite television homes in Houston and the surrounding markets in Texas and Louisiana and produces over 300 live events annually focusing on Houston sports teams.

The network is the home for Houston Astros, Houston Rockets and Houston Dynamo games, Houston Texans weekly shows during the NFL season, coverage of Big 12 Conference and Conference USA events, University Interscholastic League (UIL) Texas high school events, local college coaches shows, and customized regional shows and specials.
