AP Renews, Extends Civolution Deal for Tracking Content

The Associated Press (AP) has renewed and extended its multi-year agreement for Civolution’s global Teletrax – Television Monitoring solution.

Under the terms of the agreement, AP, which tripled the number of television channels to be monitored, will utilize Civolution’s Teletrax comprehensive video monitoring and reporting solution to globally track broadcast usage of its video news content on a story-specific and real-time basis.

“Civolution provides us with detailed intelligence on the legitimate use of our content within minutes of airing,” says AP Director of Sales EMEA, Markus Ickstadt. “The information gathered is crucial for us. By knowing exactly what content aired, how long it aired and who used our content, we can truly understand our clients’ usage and needs. In a constantly moving environment this is of the utmost value. Using this intelligence we can make strategic decisions based on precise data which in turn will allow us to offer our customers more relevant packages and value-based pricing options.”

AP and SNTV extended the agreement to include SNTV, a partnership between AP and IMG Media. SNTV is the world’s leading sports news video agency, providing bulletins, highlights and breaking news 24/7/365. SNTV will utilize Teletrax – Television Monitoring to better understand the reach and performance of their sports stories and better manage their inventory and resources. Martin Kay, Managing Director of SNTV, said: “SNTV’s mission is to deliver the most relevant sports news to our customers.  Our decision to use the Teletrax – Television Monitoring solution provided by Civolution directly supports this objective.”

“We are delighted that AP has renewed and extended its agreement with Civolution, and that SNTV is part of this new agreement’’ said Andy Nobbs, Chief Commercial Officer at Civolution. “In such a fast changing environment, news executives need to constantly be aware of up to the minute market trends. The Teletrax – Television Monitoring solution plays a pivotal role in enabling organizations like AP and SNTV to control and manage their news inventory and media assets.’’
