As the French Open takes center stage, television viewers will again be exposed to a signature sports visual: the red clay at Roland Garros. …According to the Associated Press, The Barclays Center has named John Sparks as its general manager. Sparks will oversee the operations of the Brooklyn, NY venue which is scheduled to open in September 2012 and will be home to the NBA’s Nets. The team currently plays at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Sparks was the director of operations at Phillips Arena in Atlanta before spending the last nine years with the San Antonio Spurs as part of their Sports & Entertainment team.
