Venue News: Pick Any Color for Your New Tennis Court

As the French Open takes center stage, television viewers will again be exposed to a signature sports visual: the red clay at Roland Garros. With the advent of artificial surfaces, more and more tennis venues are looking to customize their own unique look and designer DecoTurf is using its Website to give users the opportunity to experiment with a wide array of color combinations for their playing surfaces. …According to the Associated Press, The Barclays Center has named John Sparks as its general manager. Sparks will oversee the operations of the Brooklyn, NY venue which is scheduled to open in September 2012 and will be home to the NBA’s Nets. The team currently plays at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Sparks was the director of operations at Phillips Arena in Atlanta before spending the last nine years with the San Antonio Spurs as part of their Sports & Entertainment team.
