Comcast SportsNet to Use Retro Graphics as Part of ‘White Sox 70’s Night’

Comcast SportsNet, the television home of the Chicago White Sox, will take part in the celebration of White Sox 70’s Night on Friday by utilizing a number of special ’70’s-themed elements throughout the pre-game, game, and post-game broadcasts. Coverage will begin at 6:30 pm on CSN+ with first pitch slated for 7:10 pm.

The night gets underway on CSN+ at 6:30 pm with a special U.S. Cellular Field remote edition of Feldco White Sox Pre-Game Live hosted by Chuck Garfien and 1971 American League home run champ “Beltin’ Bill” Melton, who will also toss the ceremonial first pitch. Then, at 7:10 pm on CSN+, Ken “Hawk” Harrelson and Steve Stone (a member of the White Sox in ’73, ’77 & ‘78) will have the game call as the White Sox host the Oakland A’s.

In addition to 70’s retro-style, on-air graphics (which will be used during the first three innings of game), Comcast SportsNet will also have Harrelson and Stone don retro ‘70’s sportscaster jackets during the game open. Viewers can also check out “Hawk,” Stone and Melton wearing ‘70’s White Sox game jerseys that will be autographed and auctioned off on WhiteSox.com starting June 20 with proceeds going to White Sox Charities

Other in-game features include vintage 70’s White Sox footage, 70’s White Sox trivia, a disco ball in the production truck, plus – special surprise guests during the game.
