Longhorn Network to Exclusively Televise Two Texas Football Games

Subscribers to the Longhorn Network will see some live football after all as two Texas games will air exclusively on the new network this season.
The season-opening Rice vs. Texas game will be televised live in high definition from Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. CT (with a re-air at 11 p.m.). The network will also carry a second game that will be a Big 12 intra-conference contest that is to be determined at a later date.
The new 24/7 University of Texas network will have launched just eight days prior on August 26, and will provide week-long coverage leading into the Longhorns’ season opener.
“We are thrilled to be able to bring not one but two games to Longhorn fans this year,” says Stephanie Druley, Longhorn Network vice president, production. “The Texas-Rice game will be an exciting first for the network and demonstrate how we will provide the most comprehensive coverage of Texas football that fans have ever experienced.”
