Maingear’s Quantum SHIFT Workstation with NVIDIA Quadro Offers Robust Performance for Adobe CS5.5

Maingear, a PC builder offering custom desktops, gaming notebooks, PC workstations, and media center PCs, updated their Quantum SHIFT workstation, designed for maximum scalability and performance on large data files and complex multi-threaded applications for enhanced workflow.

Maingear’s Quantum SHIFT PC workstations offer support for Adobe Creative Suite version 5.5. Designed to enhance workflow instead of requiring workarounds, the Quantum SHIFT is a graphic and video editing PC capable of content creation with support for XML, EDL, and OMF import/export and networked storage. The Quantum SHIFT supports the hardware necessary to build the 4K, HD, or DV video editing PC that fits existing infrastructure.

NVIDIA Quadro professional graphics solutions based on NVIDIA Fermi architecture are available for real-time playback and editing of up to three layers of 4K footage and support for up to 12 SSD or 9 mechanical hard drives.

“NVIDIA Quadro professional graphics processors offer digital content creation professionals the highest quality and performance solutions across a broad range of design, animation, and video applications,” said Justin Boitano, director of marketing, NVIDIA. “Maingear Quantum SHIFT workstations, combined with NVIDIA Quadro GPUs, allow Adobe users to edit 3 layers of HD video with complex effects up to 14x faster.”

The Quantum SHIFT now also offers Maingear’s 180-mm cooling solution for dual Intel Xeon processors, the Maingear EPIC 180 X2. This closed-loop, 50,000 hour watercooling solution is able to dissipate up to 900 watts of heat, more than three times necessary for dual Xeons. The EPIC 180 X2 was built to deliver maximum performance in demanding environments and at a sound level below that of other dual processor workstation or multi-processor platform on the market.

“The Quantum SHIFT’s EPIC 180 X2 proves the Maingear team is serious about offering the best solution with the ultimate in silent cooling for creative professionals,” said Geoff Lyon, president and CEO of CoolIT Systems. “We are excited they are extending the EPIC cooling solutions for systems that combine the best of engineering, functionality, and design.”
