Turner Sports, NCAA Welcome New Interns Through NCAA Digital Partnership
Turner Sports and the NCAA welcome the inaugural class of interns into the NCAA Digital Internship Program. The internship program begins today and runs through June 30, 2012. The interns were chosen from more than 1,750 applicants and hail from 11 different colleges and universities and eight different states. They will work primarily on the NCAA Digital portfolio, which includes NCAA.com, March Madness on Demand (MMOD) and NCAA Mobile, in seven areas of the company: editorial, multimedia, business operations, product management, operations, marketing and public relations. The interns will have a first-hand opportunity to experience the world of digital media and sports television through Turner’s partnership with the NCAA.
“With today’s launch of the NCAA Digital Internship Program, we’re breaking new ground in the digital sports industry,” said Mark A. Johnson, Turner Sports vice president of business operations. “We’re looking forward to sharing the next 11 months with these young professionals as we continue to innovate and grow our NCAA Digital portfolio.”
The Turner Sports and NCAA internship program is part of the initiative conceived from the 14-year television, internet and wireless rights agreement in which Turner manages and operates the NCAA digital portfolio and strengthens coverage of all 89 NCAA championships. NCAA Digital encompasses NCAA.com, MMOD and additional NCAA digital platforms including mobile web and applications, as well as other connected devices.
