YES Network To Carry Fox NFL Sunday in NYC as Local Stations Focus on 9/11

This Sunday, WNYW FOX 5 and WWOR My9 are providing extensive coverage of the tenth anniversary of 9-11 from The World Trade Center and the National September 11th Memorial and Museum. In light of FOX5’s special coverage of this solemn ceremony, YES Network has graciously agreed to carry the special 9/11-themed edition of FOX NFL SUNDAY in the New York/tri-state area at its usual 12:00 PM ET start time.

The one-hour FOX NFL SUNDAY show features an open narrated by former president George W. Bush and includes members of the FDNY, NYPD and Port Authority of NY & NJ Police Department.  The program also features the story of four families personally affected by the attacks at the World Trade Center in 2001 and how the NFL helped them in their grieving.  At 12:57 PM ET, 9/11 coverage continues with an NFL-coordinated pregame ceremony from Shanksville, PA that includes a special video introduction narrated by Academy Award-winner Robert De Niro, followed by a performance of Taps, a moment of silence and the National Anthem. Coaches, players and local first responders hold field-length American flags during these performances wherever NFL games are about to begin.

YES Network returns to regularly scheduled programming at 1:03 PM ET, at which time YES will air its own one-hour 9/11 special, 9/11 Remembered.
