NVIDIA GPUs Lend Special Effects to The Muppets

The Muppets returned to the silver screen last week, packing a little NVIDIA GPU technology to spice up the action. Check out this short video for a behind-the-scenes look at the movie, from the visual effects studio that worked on the film.

Don’t worry, you’re not going to see computer-generated Muppets. They’re still the same furry friends that we grew up with. But they are packing some nifty effects that are hard to film in real life – like blowing up Mount Rushmore, for example.

To create the visual effects that aren’t practical with people (or puppets), nearly all production studios use NVIDIA GPUs. Look Effects, a Los Angeles visual effects house, is no exception – they use NVIDIA Quadro graphics cards to render and composite each scene.
