Campus Clips: Pac-12 Enterprises Names Bill Cella CRO; Northwestern to Host College Sports Media Panel

Northern Arizona's new mobile app contains a wealth of information for students, alumni, and NAU sports fans.

Bill Cella, has been named Chief Revenue Officer for Pac-12 Enterprises. Cella will be based in New York, but will spend considerable time in San Francisco as the company prepares for the launch of its television and digital networks in late summer 2012. Cella brings a strong pedigree and years of experience in media negotiation, programming creation and branded content to the Pac-12. He will design and implement long term strategies and oversee the management of all revenue generation for Pac-12 Enterprises, which includes the Pac-12Networks, Pac-12 Digital Network and Pac-12 Properties, the sponsorship, licensing and events management arm for the Conference. He previously guided The Cella Group, a media sales representation company offering sales in both traditional and digital, consultations in media, as well as sports and entertainment representation…

…As part of Medill’s Gertrude and G.D. Crain Jr. Lecture Series, Northwestern will host a panel addressing the changing climate of college sports and the media. Sports Illustrated’s Stewart Mandel, The New York Times’ Pete Thamel and Northwestern University Head Football coach Pat Fitzgerald will discuss changes in college and how they think the landscape and coverage of college athletics will continue to evolve on February 22. …Fans of Northern Arizona University athletics will now be able to check scores, schedules, and read up-to-the-minute stories on the go with the new NAU mobile application. The app offers a feed to YouTube, including original NAU content. It also contains many useful features that will prove useful to NAU students, including a movable classroom via Blackboard Learn for students and faculty to access course information. It will also deliver the latest news from Inside NAU, Alumni Relations, campus photos, a university directory and a calendar of upcoming events. It also features an interactive map of the Flagstaff campus and real-time tracking of Mountain Link and on-campus bus services…

…The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced a new six-year corporate partnership with PrestoSports, Inc. through 2018. PrestoSports will serve as the Official Statistics Provider of the NJCAA and deliver the organization and its 500-plus member colleges an upgraded national stat program as well as access to its new PrestoSports Stats Entry application, which is a free stat entry solution.
