Grass Valley To Show Production Offerings at 2012 CABSAT

Grass Valley will demonstrate its production solutions at the 2012 CABSAT exhibition scheduled for February 28 to March 1 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (S3-C42). The presentation will focus on new additions to the Grass Valley product range. On hand will be solutions fitting the requirements of customers in the sports, live, and news production areas, as well as those in the playout domain.

The new LDK 3000+ HD camera is an updated version of the entry-level HD system camera, with 3 high-performance Xensium CMOS imagers.  Major new functionality has been added in response to customer demand. A secondary color correction system has been included to give engineers even more precise control over matching and developing a distinctive look for a production. Also new to the LDK 3000+ is the CLASS (Chromatic Aberration and Sharpness Solution) feature, a software algorithm which works with lens data to compensate for chromatic lens aberration, which has the benefit of improving overall image sharpness across the full width of the picture by as much as 40%. For the installed base of LDK 3000 cameras, a field-upgrade kit is available.

The Grass Valley K2 Edge Integrated Playout Solutions is a Linux-based, software-centric, multi-platform playout system with a purpose-built, high availability architecture for mission-critical 24/7 playout applications. K2 Edge is based on an optimized IT architecture and infrastructure, as well as integrating tools to enable sophisticated graphics looks and designs. Total cost of ownership is reduced by streamlining the playout workflow as each aspect—server, graphics, asset management, and playout management itself—is  integrated and purpose-built to work together.

Grass Valley STRATUS

STRATUS is an advanced new approach to the challenges of satisfying user requirements in key production areas such as studios and newsrooms. It brings a service oriented architecture (SOA) approach in a framework that is simple to implement and to use. STRATUS systems integrate multiple devices and software applications to match workflow needs. Toolsets can be quickly set up and modified when needed, which rely on consistent plug-in components for interoperability and communication. STRATUS utilizes the Grass Valley K2 infrastructure for recording, storing, and playout of media content.

Grass Valley will also demonstrate its Trinix NXT 1080p capable video router with an internal multiviewer option. This high-quality, fully integrated multiviewer monitoring solution supports infrastructures up to 3Gb/s while providing up to eight SDI monitor outputs, image scaling features, embedded and discrete audio monitoring functions, and status and alarming capabilities that are ideal for simultaneously viewing multiple sources within all types of broadcast control rooms, live production and distribution facilities, and mobile trucks.

The Grass Valley K2 Dyno HD system consists of the K2 Dyno controller coupled with the K2 Summit production client with 4.8 terabytes of internal storage. It is designed to help sports producers and other professionals capture live events in crystal-clear HD resolutions and instantly play them out at variable speeds for critical analysis during fast-paced events. It is ideally suited for HD sports production trucks and shared storage production facilities.

Grass Valley’s staff will be available on stand S3-C42 in the Sheikh Saeed Hall to demonstrate all of the Grass Valley products and to discuss Grass Valley solutions for new business requirements and revenue growth.
Grass Valley products and solutions will also be displayed at two separate local partner booths: Panorama PVS Ltd (Booth# S2-A42) and Tek Signals (Booth# S3-B31).
