CP Communications Transitions to MPEG4

CP Communications has successfully launched and used of their newest technology,  CPGMS MPEG4 3 gigabit dual video input transmitters that operate in the 2.0-2.5GHz bands. The small form factor transmitters also have 900MHz data control built in.

“We have been working with GMS here in the states and COBHAM in the UK to develop a system that can handle two full HD video sources for dual video and 3D applications,”  says Kurt Heitmann, SVP of CP.  “We just finished a project which had one dual stream unit and two cameras in each of three cars for Subaru, this past weekend. The units performed very well and we are now ready to apply them in a 3D capacity.”

CP Communications plans to move its entire HDRF camera inventory over to MPEG4 technologies from Gigawave and GMS.

“We took the OEM units from GMS, completely took them apart and repackaged them for broadcast use, and added our own proprietary paint systems that will allow the use of  Sony, Thomson or Ikegami OCP’s,” continues Heitmann. ” The units are the smallest available with control built in and the MPEG4 video quality is much better then MPEG2.
