Campus Clips: Pac-12 Networks Unveils First Schedule; NIT Agrees to Deal to Stay at MSG

The Pac-12 Networks released its first schedule this week. The networks, which is set to launch with a national channel and six regional channels on Aug. 15, will debut with its series Pac-12 Live at 6 p.m. PT and the 2012 Football Preview show at 7 p.m. PT…

…BTN also announced that it will kick off its football season next Thursday with the broadcast of Big Ten Football Media Day. BTN’s coverage will be anchored by Mike Hall and Chris Martin and will also be available via the networks mobile applications, BTN2Go. The program will include full press conferences for all head coaches and Commissioner Jim Delany. In addition, the day’s opening session will also air on ESPNU. Coverage will begin on ESPNU at 10 a.m. CT, Select Big Ten coaches and players are expected to appear live on ESPN’s SportsCenter and College Football Live as well…

…The NCAA, the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), and The Madison Square Garden Company have reached a three-year agreement that will keep the NIT Season Tip-Off and the NIT in New York City’s historic Madison Square Garden. As a result of the deal, The semifinals, third-place game and championship of the NIT Season Tip-Off in November and the NIT semifinals and championship in April will continue to be played…

…Pittsburgh has settled on a $7.5 million buyout with the Big East that will allow the school to join the ACC next summer. The Big East reached a similar deal with Syracuse earlier this week. Both schools begin membership in the ACC in July 2013…

…The Southland Conference Television Network announced its fall schedule that includes 11 live football games and the championship matches of the conference soccer and volleyball tournaments. All games will be carried on more than 20 affiliates across the regional network, including stations in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma, increasing the network’s reach to more than 11.2 million households…

…According to CBSSports.com, Requests for Proposal from cities with a desire to host the Champions Bowl are expected to go out next week. The game is expected to be anchored in one spot beginning after the 2014 regular season. Dallas and Atlanta, among other cities, are known to be interested…
