Campus Clips: BTN Celebrates Five-Year Anniversary with Special; Grande Communications Launches Longhorn Network Online

Today marks the five-year anniversary of the launch of the Big Ten Network. To celebrate, BTN will air a one-hour show BTN 5th Anniversary Special to look back at many of the memorable moments from the network’s first half-decade. …Grande Communications, the Texas-based telecommunications firm, has launched live online access to Longhorn Network. Grande customers who receive Longhorn Network as part of their video subscription service will be able to watch exclusive live events and content on laptops or PCs using a broadband connection. …Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic has announced its 44-game schedule of 2012 NCAA football games, which features weekly match-ups from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and Colonial Athletic Association (CAA), as well as games from other top conferences. …In conference realignment news, Loyola (Maryland) has accepted an invitation to join the Patriot League beginning wigh the 2013-14 season. Rhode Island will remain a member of CAA Football. In November 2010, URI had announced its intention to become an associate member of the Northeast Conference in the sport of football, beginning with the 2013 season.
