Active Archive Alliance to Exhibit at Upcoming Trade Shows

Members of The Active Archive Alliance will be participating in several industry shows in the coming months including SNW Fall, HD World, SC12 and the Large Information System Administration Conference (LISA). The Active Archive Alliance will showcase the benefits and value of active archives in managing high capacity storage environments for Cloud, Big Data and High Performance Computing (HPC) environments at these shows.

  • SNW FallOctober 16-19, 2012 in Santa Clara, CA: The theme of SNW Fall 2012 is “Intelligent Architecture for the Data-Driven Business.” Alliance members FileTek and Spectra Logic will be exhibiting in Booth A5. They will also participate in a Hands-On Lab focused on demonstrating proven methods to create successful Active Archive strategies. These strategies can significantly lower storage costs, eliminate organizational silos and reduce administrative overhead.
  • HD World, November 14-15, 2012, New York, NY: HD World is a premier media and entertainment (M&E) industry event. The M&E industry has embraced the concept of active archives as a way to manage, preserve and quickly access the vast amounts of digital content produced on a daily basis. Alliance members Spectra Logic, Fujifilm, QStar, and Crossroads will be exhibiting in Booth 959.
  • SC12, November 12 – 15, 2012, Salt Lake City, UT: The SC12 conference brings together the brightest minds in supercomputing – an area where active archives play a key role in helping research facilities and other high performance computing environments actively index and rapidly retrieve data as well as support exponential data growth. Alliance members Spectra Logic, Grau Data and Fujifilm will be exhibiting in Booth 4153.
  • Large Information System Administration Conference (LISA), December 9 – 14, 2012, San Diego, CA: Attendees of this show represent a variety of specializations including security, cloud, HPC, web, network development, and storage administration. Alliance members Spectra Logic and Fujifilm will be exhibiting in Booth 205 and will focus on demonstrating how to best architect an active archive data center environment.

“Organizations that regularly manage high-volume digital assets or that face exponential data growth are recognizing the value of active archives in providing quick and reliable access to their data,” said Peter Faulhaber, president of FUJIFILM Recording Media USA, Inc. and an Active Archive Alliance board member. “These shows provide an excellent forum for us to educate the market on the economic and technological benefits of active archives for long-term storage in environments where high reliability and access to data are essential.”
