UNH, WBIN-TV Announce 15-game Multi-Sport TV Agreement

The University of New Hampshire athletic department and WBIN-TV announced a 15-game multi-sport package of games to air live on WBIN-TV. UNH Wildcat Productions will produce the games with production partner Pack Network. Additionally, for the second straight season WBIN will air UNH’s magazine show Inside Wildcat Country beginning with the debut episode later this month.

The 15-game package will feature eight men’s ice hockey games as well as three men’s basketball games and a pair of games each for women’s basketball and women’s ice hockey. The first broadcast will be Friday, Oct. 12 when the men’s hockey team takes on St. Cloud State University (7:30 p.m.). UNH Wildcat Productions broadcasts home games for 12 of its 20 varsity sports via UNHWildcats.tv. All told, UNH will produce over 100 games including the 15 on WBIN-TV.

“We are thrilled to begin our second season as New Hampshire’s home for UNH hockey and basketball,” WBIN General Manager Gerry McGavick said. “UNH is a cornerstone of the WBIN sports lineup and we can’t wait for the season to begin.”

“UNH athletics is thrilled to build on its relationship with WBIN-TV,” Tom Wilkins, Associate Athletic Director for Media & Public Relations said. “The live games and Inside Wildcat Country were extremely well received last year. We are excited to expand this package to 15 games in 2012-13. WBIN has emerged as a high-quality station that offers our fans, family, alumni and the greater New England community great entertainment. With our partners at Pack Network and WBIN, our goal is to exhibit the outstanding athletics we see on a daily basis here at UNH.”
