Brevity President/CEO Timothy O’Brien Passes Away

Brevity Ventures President and CEO Timothy O’Brien has passed away after a sudden diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

Kevin Norris has been named Brevity’s interim CEO to lead the company during this transition. Kevin had been working closely with Timothy since earlier this year and was planning to join Brevity in November as a senior executive.

“Tim was truly one-of-a-kind,” says Norris. “He was a passionate and brilliant man who shared and shaped the vision of what Brevity has become. Whether he was part of our life as a leader, adviser, mentor, or close friend, his honesty, standards and respect for others were an inspiration to us all.”

Timothy joined Brevity in May 2011 after decades of experience in start-ups and major companies such as IBM Global Services Media & Entertainment and Yahoo.

“Tim committed everything to Brevity and more than once he said that this was the opportunity he had been waiting for, for his entire career,” says Jacob Bronstein, Brevity co-founder. “He strongly believed in every aspect of this company and has ingrained in all of us the entrepreneurial spirit and operational experience that has led Brevity to its current stage of evolution, growth and overall success. To those associated with Brevity, as well as the many people who personally knew Timothy, his wisdom, generosity, integrity and leadership will be greatly missed.”

Timothy is survived by his wife Monika Fimpel.
