MLB Network Announces Offseason Programming Slate

MLB Network announced its weekday programming lineup for the offseason, featuring the re-launch of Hot Stove as a morning show, as Matt Vasgersian and Harold Reynolds host a live, two-hour weekday talk show starting Monday, November 12 at 9:00 a.m. ET.

MLB Tonight, MLB Network’s signature studio show, will shift to a year-round show for the first time, airing throughout the entire offseason at 6:00 p.m. ET and 8:00 p.m. ET.

In an offseason where news can break at any moment, Hot Stove will start a baseball fan’s day by providing live analysis, debate, and interviews with MLB Network insiders, current MLB players, and celebrity baseball fans.  Based out of MLB Network’s new Studio K, Hot Stove will also feature perspectives from Sports on Earth  writers, including 2012 National Sportswriter of the Year Joe Posnanski. Launched this past August under a joint venture between USA Today Sports Media Group and MLB Advanced Media, L.P., Sports on Earth is an online destination for sports writing in all its forms.

Throughout the offseason, Vasgersian and Reynolds will set out to find the “Face of MLB” by creating a bracket-style tournament with matchup results voted on by fans using social media. Fans will first vote which player they think is the face of each MLB franchise before matching each club’s player up to determine the “Face of MLB.”

MLB Network will air the best of Hot Stove weekdays at 4:00 p.m. ET. MLB Network’s offseason lineup will feature Chris Rose and Kevin Millar continuing to host a 30-minute edition of Intentional Talk  weekdays at 5:00 p.m. ET and 7:00 p.m. ET. Clubhouse Confidential, hosted by Brian Kenny, will return and air weekdays at 5:30 p.m. ET and 7:30 p.m. ET beginning Monday, November 5. MLB Tonight will regularly air weekdays at 6:00 p.m. ET and 8:00 p.m. ET, providing fans the latest news, interviews and reports around the league.

With the re-launch of Hot Stove as a morning show, MLB Network’s offseason lineup now includes more than 35 hours of original studio programming each week.
