Behind the Mic: ESPN Adds Flip Saunders, Antonio Davis to NBA Studio Team; Stan Van Gundy Jumps Aboard NBC Sports Group Team

Veteran NBA head coach Flip Saunders has joined ESPN as an NBA studio analyst. As part of the multiyear agreement, Saunders will make regular appearances on a variety of ESPN studio shows, including SportsCenter, NBA Coast to Coast, NBA Tonight and other news and information programming.

Former NBA All-Star Antonio Davis has also joined ESPN as an NBA studio analyst. …Former NBA head coach Stan Van Gundy will begin an on-going relationship with the NBC Sports Group by joining NBC Sports Network’s coverage of the inaugural Navy-Marine Corps Classic, and by becoming a regular contributor to NBC Sports Radio. Van Gundy will make his national-television debut as an analyst during the inaugural Navy-Marine Corps Classic on Nov. 9 on the deck of the USS Bataan, at Mayport Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, FL. Van Gundy has also signed on with NBC Sports Radio to be a regular contributor. Initially, he will call-in for regular guest segments on numerous NBC Sports Radio programs, contributing to the pro basketball discussion of the day. …Dan Shulman has reached a multiyear extension with ESPN. Shulman will continue to serve as the voice of Sunday Night Baseball – ESPN’s exclusive national MLB game of the week. He will also resume his play-by-play roles for ESPN’s Saturday primetime Men’s college basketball telecasts with analyst Dick Vitale and ESPN Radio’s coverage of the MLB postseason, including the World Series. …NESN has added Adam Pellerin and Jamie Erdahl as anchor/reporters. Pellerin comes to NESN from WFXT FOX 25 in Boston where he has served as a general assignment reporter and fill-in news and sports anchor since 2007. Erdahl comes to NESN after working as a freelance reporter at Fox Sports North where she served as a live event sideline reporter on WNBA telecasts of the Minnesota Lynx.
