Two Films in One for Unique 3D Cinema First

While this may not really be a “first” in 3D, UK’s Telegraph reports that a charity advert to raise awareness of domestic violence is the first to use 3D technology to show two films simultaneously.

The 65-second commercial for Women’s Aid, allows audiences to choose what they see by closing one eye or the other.

In one view, it shows a woman making dinner, while the other reveals that her husband is abusing her while she is preparing the meal. The slogan asks ‘Will you turn a blind eye?’

The film takes advantage of the way 3D films provide two different images. While they usually combine to make a single picture, in this case the two provide intentionally different but complementary images.
