FOR-A Demos 4K Camera at Band Pro’s One World Open House

FOR-A Company Limited, a manufacturer of video and audio systems for the broadcast and professional video industries, displayed the FT-ONE full 4K high resolution variable frame rate camera at Band Pro Film & Digital’s annual One World Open House. The event was hosted at Band Pro’s location in Burbank, CA, on December 13.

The award-winning FT-ONE has received a lot of attention since its introduction earlier this year at Cine Gear Expo. Harnessing the power of FOR-A’s originally developed high-sensitivity CMOS color sensor “FT1-CMOS”, the FT-ONE records and plays back full 4K film look imagery.  To achieve its full 4K super slow motion capabilities, the FT-ONE has the ability to record up to 900 frames per second. One output channel can provide full 4K (four 1080p HD-SDI) outputs, while the other output channel provides down-converted HD-SDI for live viewing and play back. The FT-ONE captures images as uncompressed raw data on the system’s internal memory, which has a recording capacity of 9.4 seconds. This data is then stored on one of two hot-swappable SSD cartridges, each of which is capable of storing 84 seconds of full 4K resolution images.

“The Band Pro event always attracts highly regarded film and video professionals from around the industry who are constantly on the lookout for innovative solutions for high-end entertainment production,” said Pedro Silvestre, sales director, FOR-A America. “As the world’s first full 4K super slow motion camera, the FT-ONE offers the latest advancements in the world of digital cinematography. Showcasing the camera at this year’s Open House gives us an opportunity to talk one on one with attendees about its features and receive valuable feedback.”

Band Pro hosts One World Open House annually to show appreciation to clients, friends, and professionals around the industry.  The event features exhibitors who will showcase the latest technology in action and an inventory sale. The event’s guest of honor this year was Oscar-winning cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond, ASC.
