Michigan State Selects XOS Remote Camera System

XOS Digital has installed the XOS Thunder Remote Camera Systems in the Michigan State University football practice facilities.

“Consistently capturing quality practice footage is essential for our game preparation workflow,” said Matt Harper, video coordinator, Michigan State. “Our XOS Thunder Remote Camera Systems enable us to capture high-definition video in any weather condition and provide access to angles you just cannot get from a lift.”

The XOS Thunder Remote Camera System enables MSU’s coaching staff to capture high-definition video for practice analysis. XOS Digital installed Thunder Remote Camera Systems in both the indoor and outdoor practice facilities of the Skandalaris Football Center.

Each camera is mounted and reinforced in a weatherproof, climate-controlled housing unit to ensure proper protection and optimal footage in any condition. The cameras provide both SD and HD functionality to accommodate current and future workflow needs, and also incorporate Panasonic’s pan, tilt, zoom cameras to provide fluid movement in all directions.

XOS Digital installed an indoor viewing transmission station within the football practice facility, enabling the football video staff to have complete control of the cameras. Fiber infrastructure sends live footage directly from the field to the video room and is captured directly in XOS Thunder HD video editing system for game preparation and analysis.

“Quality practice footage makes a world of difference for effective game preparation and player analysis,” Chris McCleary, CEO, XOS Digital said. “We’re pleased to provide Michigan State with the XOS Thunder Remote Camera System as a reliable means for capturing the most practice footage possible.”

XOS worked closely with the MSU video team to determine the best solution based on workflow, video quality needed, budget and timeline. The Thunder Remote Camera System is scalable to fit a variety of budget and needs.

XOS Digital has provided MSU Football with video technology solutions since 2005.
