Cinedeck Products Lend Flexibility to Recording, Playback

The Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome Cinedeck as a corporate sponsor. Based in New York City, the company manufactures solid-state recording, monitoring, and playback products. Its EX, RX, and MX recorders deliver flexible tapeless-workflow options to studios, postproduction facilities, and broadcasters covering the wide range of digital cinema, sports, and entertainment.

“SVG gives Cinedeck a progressive forum to access, and join forces with, sports broadcasters who are truly pushing and pioneering technological advances that will impact on the wider live-broadcast industry,” says Cinedeck founder/CEO Charles D’Autremont.

Cinedeck products enable users to capture natively to the most popular formats and eliminate time-consuming and costly ingest and transcoding. According to the company, its products offer truly redundant, multi-input, multidestination, multicodec record capability. Users can record edit-ready files directly to the destination drives they need to work from and simultaneously generate client-deliverable content, as well as perform real-time up/down/crossconversion in more than a dozen resolution and frame-size combinations, including SD.

At Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, All Mobile Video will be providing a combination of Cinedeck RX and MX recorders for CBS’s broadcast. These will establish a central hub for the ingest of clips in multiple formats and different resolutions throughout the live show, with transcoding to an approved standard for transmission.

Cinedeck playback supports such formats as P2, SxS, and nanoFlash recorded CF cards, and GoPro clips.
