Argentinian Production Company Invests in EVS Systems

EVS, a provider of broadcast and media production systems for sports, news, and TV entertainment, has announced that television production company Non Stop has invested in EVS systems. The Buenos Aires-based company, which produces popular TV shows such as Art Attack and Playhouse Disney, and operates paid TV channels such as Viajar, Look TV, and Slow Channel, has installed a six-channel HD EVS XT series server controlled by EVS’ IPDirector suite of video production management applications.

With its new file-based EVS-based workflow, Non Stop can make changes during production without interrupting the recording, while simultaneously editing the recorded content, enabling them to produce higher-quality final versions of content faster and more efficiently.

“The EVS system gives us more flexibility and the ability to produce high-quality programs more quickly,” says Patricio Rabufetti, owner and president, Non Stop. “It integrates seamlessly with our existing production workflow and third-party systems, making installation and use quick and easy.”

The EVS system is integrated with storage from Promise Technology in an Xsan configuration, and B4M’s media asset management platform FORK Production Suite. Working in the Apple ProRes LT codec throughout the workflow, the EVS XT server records two ISO feeds and a PGM output. Through IPDirector’s integrated production management tools, content is prepared for delivery to the FORK production folders, and from there it’s sent to post production and archive. Content remains on the XT servers for two days before it’s finalized.

“We worked closely with both Non Stop and our local partner BVS on this project,” says Frederic Garroy, general manager, EVS Americas. “The solution had to be very flexible because production teams from different countries use Non Stop’s facilities for their shows. The end result is a very reliable solution for everyone.”

EVS’ XT series server provides complete media control from ingest to playout, including live editing, slow motion replays, and multi-channel playback, and enables the quick-turnaround capabilities so critical to today’s production environment.
