New Music-Video Channel Taps Level 3 for Media Delivery

Level 3 Communications announced it is providing media delivery services to power a new 24/7 music video channel for VEVO, the world’s leading all-premium music video and entertainment platform.

Launched on March 12, 2013, VEVO TV is an always-on, TV broadcast-style music video channel that delivers a new 24-hour programming line-up featuring content from VEVO’s extensive catalogue of premium music videos. The new TV platform will also feature live concert events, artist interviews and original VEVO programming in carefully hand-assembled programmed blocks.

The Level 3 content delivery network (CDN) enables a complete end-to-end media delivery service. Using Level 3’s cloud storage, encoding capabilities and global video delivery network, VEVO is able to use a single provider to create a linear multi-cast network to reach audiences on, iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Xbox, and Roku.

VEVO TV is available in the U.S. and Canada within and the company’s free apps for iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Xbox and Roku. More distribution platforms will be announced in the future.
