Disney, Imax to Co-Produce 3D Space Film
HollywoodReporter.com reports that the first joint production between the giant screen exhibitor and studio major follows the release of Disney films “Fantasia 2000” and “Oz The Great and Powerful” in the large format.
Imax is going back into space, this time with Walt Disney Studios.
Launching its first joint production with Imax, Disney is backing the latest 3D space film by veteran filmmaker Toni Myers (Space Station 3D, Hubble 3D), which is still untitled.
The Disney-Imax project will use high-resolution photography and videography to offer a bird’s eye view of a fast-changing Earth from space, ahead of a planned 2015 release.
NASA will once again partner on the Imax space film production.
