CSP Mobile Productions Confirms Its Staff OK Following Explosions at Boston Marathon

Following today’s horrific events at the Boston Marathon, SVG has learned that personnel working the television broadcast from CSP Mobile Productions and New England-based television production services company The Green Line Group are reported safe. Confirmation came via e-mail this afternoon from CSP Mobile Productions president Len Chase.

The explosions occurred about 2:45 p.m. this afternoon and are being described by race officials as bombs. As of 5 p.m. ET, at least two people were killed and 23 injured, police said. The explosions went off near the finish line came more than two hours after the first of the race’s nearly 27,000 runners had crossed the finish line.

The Boston Marathon is a signature event in the city and has been run since 1897 on Patriots Day, a holiday in Boston held on the third Monday in April. Tens of thousands of spectators turn out each year to watch the race.

This year’s live television broadcast of the race for the first in the race’s history to be transmitted in high-definition.
