Envivio and CED To Present Educational Webcast on May 2

Many operators have launched the first phase of multiscreen services, but extending the full experience of traditional broadcast TV (national, local and PEG channels) to multi-screen — at least doing it the right way — involves more than just streaming content. Envivio will host a webcast that will look at many of the critical considerations for merging traditional and multiscreen video and audio services. Envivio will also highlight a recent Dolby Digital Plus implementation in a combined broadcast and multiscreen environment using Dolby and Envivio technologies.

The one-hour webcast will be held on May 2, 2013, at 11:00am ET / 8:00am PT. To register, CLICK HERE. Envivio invites you to attend this live webcast and pose critical questions to the panel of experts during the Q&A session at the end of the broadcast.

Brian Santo, Editor-in-Chief, CED will moderate the panel, which features Marios Stylianou, Director of Telco Marketing, Envivio; JC Morizur, Senior Director Professional Solutions and Products, Dolby; and Allen Broome, Vice President IP Video Engineering, Comcast.

Topics to be covered include:

• Challenges faced as operators move to a combined broadcast + OTT model

• An MSO perspective on implementing a broadcast + OTT model

• Evolving cable all-IP headends using software technologies that support traditional MPEG-2 and ABR services

• Latest enhancements to MPEG-2 encoding, and the role of HEVC in coming years

• Extending audio services from broadcast to multi-screen: regulatory issues, multi-device support and ABR audio

• Enhancing the multi-screen experience with ad insertion and ancillary video/audio services such as closed captions, subtitles, multi-language audio and descriptive audio
