3D Worth Paying For
An interesting opinion piece from Simon Arseneau at meridianbooster.com:
In the years following the release of his game-changing 3D epic Avatar, director James Cameron lamented the increasing trend of movies capitalizing on 3D technology just to make an extra five dollars with each movie ticket. As a prime example, he cited Piranha 3D, which featured a woman vomiting at the camera in 3D. Having seen that movie up close, I have to agree, that was an unnecessary use of the third dimension.
However, I still think every now and then there are movies that are worth paying the extra cost to increase the visual experience.
