Ross Video’s Furio On Air in VRT News Studio Productions

Ross Video’s Furio Robotic Camera Systems in action in VRT’s News Studio

VRT, the Flemish Radio and Television Network Organization, implements Ross Video’s Furio Robotic Camera Systems into their News Studio.

VRT, a public broadcasting network of the Flemish Community in Belgium, purchased their first two Furio Robotic Camera Systems in November 2011, and a year later purchased three additional units – four to be used in the News Studio and one to remain as a backup system.

“The official tendering process for robotics started back in 2011,” said Hendrik Simoens, Project Engineer Technology, VRT. “We chose Ross’ Furio since it is fully IP-based control, there are no single points of failure and it offered an open API enabling flexible control by automation systems.”

“Ross was pleased to provide VRT with the technological and architectural technology they were seeking,” said Miguel Declerck, Marketing Product Manager, Ross Robotics. “Furio was designed with news production environments in mind.”

In December, VRT completed the final installation of all the Furio Robotics Systems and went on air in March 2013.
