University of Richmond Taps Panasonic to Install Four LED Displays

The University of Richmond’s Athletic Department has announced that Panasonic will provide new video boards as part of the current $17 million Robins Center renovation project.  Once installed, the displays will be the largest of any Atlantic 10 arena and will also be one of the largest displays of any on-campus arena in the ACC or Big East.

The four Panasonic LED video boards, each measuring approximately 15 feet high by 32 feet wide, will be installed with one board located in each of the four corner hospitality areas. Each video display will be just three feet narrower and four feet shorter than the video display at Robins Stadium, the home of Spider football.

“We are excited to work with Panasonic to enhance the overall fan experience in the new Robins Center,” Richmond Athletic Director Keith Gill said. “The new LED displays will really add to the excitement to the games.”

In addition, to complement the recently added LED displays at the scorer’s table and at the base of the four corner vomitories, the Robins Center will also include a new center hung LED ribbon board and 48 feet of courtside LED displays on the baseline nearest the home team bench.

“The new video boards at the Robins Center will go a long way in enhancing the event experience for fans and offering dynamic content updates for the arena’s sponsors,” Richard Ballard, Panasonic’s VP of Sales & Marketing said. “Panasonic is pleased to work on this project and provided much more than just the video boards – we provided an end-to-end solution that made it possible for the center’s management to focus on the other parts of their renovation project.”
